Location
Reviews and Ratings
The hotel rooms were big and comfortable, immaculately clean, and surprisingly peaceful despite the lively atmosphere of Sun City outside. The service was a mix of under-pressure moments affecting some staff attitudes but redeemed by helpful individuals for dinner reservations. The location offered stunning views and convenient access to various onsite activities. The facilities were well-equipped, contributing to a pleasant overall experience.
The hotel rooms could use a revamp to be more modern for a 5-star stay. While not extremely suitable for small children, they were still OK. The cleanliness and comfort were notable. However, the hotel was not fully prepared for the number of guests expected, causing some inconvenience.
The room needs serious attention with the bedding, which was old, tatty, and full of holes. The housekeeping staff might be using it as a smoking room while cleaning, although it was listed as non-smoking. Despite being directly above the deck, it promised a pool view.
The room was not extremely suitable for a stay with small children and had a very impractical shower. It was not serviced properly and was not clean, only suitable for 2 people and absolutely not for 3.
The hotel offers a pleasant stay with good rooms and dining options, albeit with some service issues. The location is convenient for accessing nearby attractions.
The hotel had a horrible smell coming from the bathroom drains which made it unbearable, especially at night. The rooms were not secure, leading to baboons raiding them, and there was visible mold. Noise from kids could be heard until late. However, the staff provided superior service with a perfect attitude.
Despite a few minor issues, my stay at the hotel was delightful. The room was quiet, peaceful, and equipped with everything I needed, although I encountered some problems with the air conditioning. The staff at the Peninsula restaurant were friendly and helpful, but they seemed a bit overwhelmed at times. The hotel's location is absolutely beautiful for leisurely walks, and the exclusive access for guests added to the relaxing atmosphere. Dining experiences varied, with some fantastic moments but some disappointments as well. Overall, the facilities were top-notch, providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The hotel has a great location near the Valley of the waves and restaurants, but some areas felt old and outdated. Unexpected monkey visitors can be a downside, though the rooms are very spacious.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were not extremely suitable for a stay with small children, but we managed. The large balcony was a plus, although the air conditioner was quite noisy at times. The service was absolutely amazing, despite some language difficulties. The location was perfect for accessing activities, although service in some areas was lacking. The dining experience had its chaos but offered well-prepared options. Overall, a decent stay with some ups and downs.
The hotel offers spacious and clean rooms with a forest view by the pool, though there were some issues with water replacement and the mini-bar. The service was warm and friendly overall with some exceptions. The location near Sun City is pleasant, but ongoing renovation affects the natural light ambiance. The dining experience had long waiting times but was satisfactory in quality. The facilities are decent with some room for improvement.
The hotel feels like a little cruise ship with its fancy wooden closet doors in the rooms. The view above the breakfast area onto fake rocks with stagnant water and cigarette butts was a downside, but the cleanliness was top-notch.
The hotel has its own private balcony among the treeline, providing a wonderful sense of Africa, but the rooms smelt like stale smoke. The service was most accommodating from arrival to security, with efficient and helpful staff. The location was wonderful near all facilities, but there was a bad smell in the bathroom. The dining experience was excellent with great service, although the breakfast room was average. The facilities were top-notch, offering a range of amenities.
The hotel offers spacious and clean rooms but with a slight damp carpet issue. The service was friendly overall, though there was a negative encounter with one staff member. The location is convenient for various activities but had some cleanliness issues. The dining experience had its ups and downs. The facilities were adequate but not outstanding.
The hotel seems luxurious with 8-star prices, but the room service fell short with an empty mini-bar and sporadic housekeeping. On the bright side, the hardworking staff tried to make up for it. There was an unpleasant sewer odor in the bathrooms, which was a major downside.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were spacious and beautiful, but unfortunately had some issues with mold. The breakfast left much to be desired, reminding me more of prison food than a satisfying meal.
